Ipswich - Is there any real reason why I should choose to spend a weekend in Ipswich?

And more particularly, why I might try and persuade my wife to do so. I have to be there on Saturday 2nd August, and I just wondered if I should make a weekend of it.

I would make a weekend of it. There's not much in my opinion in Ipswich itself but you could go for walks along the River Orwell or River Deben. There are some fantastic pubs to visit along the country lanes there.

You could also take a trip to Felixstowe (30mins drive from Ipswich). They have a market there on a Sunday which is quite popular and sells general tat! The hot doughnuts are my fave!

Providing the weather is good a trip to the Ferry Boat Inn in Old Felixstowe is well worth it. Can't beat a good pint down by the water. The last time I went you could take bottled drinks onto the beach.

Its a very quiet area but lovely if you want some time together.

i have friends in ipswich, the people there are very nice, and theres a few attractions, its not the most amazing place ever but its not bad!!
