Ipswich Town close to signing Blackburn Rovers midfielder Keith Andrews on loan deal
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Keith-Andrews-c20525. The 30-year-old Republic of Ireland could be heading to the Championship side in hopes of
regular football in the upcoming season.
Andrews only made six appearances in all competitions last season, which is why he is looking for an Ewood Park exit. He has been in talks with various Championship sides, but it seems Jewell is currently in the lead to sign the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Republic-of-Ireland-c2987 international.
Jewell said while speaking to reporters:
“Keith Andrews is here and we're speaking to him to try and get a deal together for him to become our player, but it's not done yet.
We're looking to get him in on a loan deal, but there are still a few things to be sorted out so it's not quite done.
It is something we're trying to do and if things go well over the next 24 hours then he could become our player.”
Andrews signed with Blackburn Rovers in the summer of 2008 for a fee of £1 million on a three year deal from Milton Keynes Dons. He went on to make 35 appearances in all competitions and scored four goals in his first season at debut season.
Andrews was offered a contract extension the next season, he signed a four-year deal which would keep him at the club until 2013. In the 2009-2010 season, he again made 35 appearances in total and found the back of the net once.
However, his third season has been highly disappointing as he only made five appearances in the English Premier League. Last season’s lack of involvement has convinced the Irish midfielder he is no longer needed by Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385.
Andrews, who began his senior career with Wolverhampton Wanderers in 1999, has since then been with Hull City, Milton Keynes Dons and Blackburn Rovers. The midfielder also spent time on loan with Oxford United, Stoke City and Walsall earlier on in his career.
