I tried two websites to test my IQ, on one of the, which was Highiqsociety.org i scored 108, i repeated the test and got different results each time, ranging from 100-112, then i tried tickle.com, done the test twice and on both occasions got an IQ score of 120.

The do not give you the answers or anything, which one is more accurat?

Thanks and no dumb answers please.

  1. I agree with the first two answers, online tests are not accurate.

you shouldn't take IQ tests too seriously anyway; it worries me that a lot of businesses put faith in a system of measuring intelligence that often fails to match people's performance in the real world; I know a few people who have relatively low IQ's but a couple of them are skilled mechanics and at least one other is a sneaky b**tard who is smart enough to outwit Customs & Excise officers.

IQ tests don't test anything more than a person's ability to perform in an IQ test, the bulk of the testing being based on mathematics and memory.

  2. Basically, neither!  You can only get a reasonably reliable test result if it is carried out in proper controlled 'clinical' conditions.  Website tests are notoriously unreliable.

  3. Neither of them are accurate, as you have just shown us.  I've taken most internet IQ tests for fun, and my score has changed more than 60 points from one to another.  Internet IQ tests are just for fun; none of them are accurate or could be considered your official IQ because anyone can write a test and it's far too easy to cheat on them.

If you want an accurate score, take an official, proctored exam.

  4. None are accurate because a lot of it is down to practice. Do a few tests and you end up increasing your IQ score because you figure out methods to solve the problems.

  5. Online IQ tests, no matter what claims they make, are only fun games. As are the 'Test the Nation's IQ' shows on TV.

Only supervised tests such as Cattell give one an accurate Intelligence Quotient score. I recommend http://www.mensa.org where you can arrange to sit for a supervised test in your area.

To say that "IQ tests are nothing more than a test of your ability to do IQ tests" is cliché and not true. Mensa tests are based on far more than mathematics and memory.
