Iran, what do you think of?

You people in the west. What do you think of Iran? We consider people and their rulers are agree on stoning, execution, etc. ? Totally, what do you think of the Iranian folks? Let me know...

I am a British-Iranian... born in Iran, raised in the UK.  You and I can sit down and discuss our views and beliefs about democracy, methods of punishment, and anything else that the "Western" society deems as right and appropriate..... and I am sure you will find we agree on most, if not all counts.  The same can be said about the views and beliefs of me and any of my cousins who have lived all their lives in Iran (and believe me, I have many of them).

So you may ask, why is it that stoning and executions is "accepted" and carried out in Iran.  Accepted - it is not! Not by ordinary people.  It is perhaps only accepted by the minority few who have been completely brainwashed by the government and its agendas.

Iranian people are peace-loving people and as I have said in a previous post, they have had to endure the heavy-handedness of the regime... so they do not like or believe in capital punishment, because I'm certain everyone knows someone who has been physically punished - so they are victims in all this too.

But generally speaking, stoning and hanging - these are executions. But does the USA still not permit executions?  It is wrong, but I think it should not be the job of one country to criticize another. Rather it should be everyone cleaning up their acts.  This is the 21st century for crying out loud!!

Most of the people are probably decent working individuals.

The people seem ok----it is that mad-dog president they have----sorry I have never learned to spell his name.

Iranian people are pretty cool and nice people but it's your president and his virtues police who needs to go!
