Iran help please?

In July it's 29 degrees whereas July it's roughly 18. Why is Iran hotter than UK?? Geographical answer please

  1. Desert area. The UK is an island, therefore it gets winds from ocean currents which are generally cool. Iran gets much less ocean currents.

    Iran is also one of the world's most mountainous countries. Because it is so mountainous, this could contribute to relief rainfall which helps in making Iran warmer and having less rain. Iran is also tucked in and around other countries and land masses and has strong continentality However, the UK is opening onto the Atlantic Ocean and we get the brunt of the cooler winds and weather off the atlantic and the polar regions, unlike Iran.
