For example, Over the last 5,000 years, the region now known as Iraq has been the target of so many invaders you'd think that a giant bull's-eye was painted on the land. Alexander the Great, the Roman emperor Trajan, the infamous Timur, and Suleyman the Magnificent are just a few of the guys who made it to Babylon or Baghdad. Why is this ??

  7. The area of Iraq is no different then many other countries in being invaded again and again(England has been invaded more often). The Iraq with its borders today, was unwisely drawn up by Woodrow Wilson during the Peace thready of Versailles 1919. It should have been split into 3 countries, Kurds, Sunnis, and Shiite, then they could slit each others throat until the end of the world.

  8. Iraq's location is strategical one indeed, but now there are resources without proper defense. It was just urging for an aggressor, and the aggressor came.
