Iraq prisoner story is he lying?

Alright, my friend his dad i guess died in iraq a year and a half ago, idk if hes like making a big lie but he told me and everyone that, they found the person who killed his dad and that he gets to choose if they kill his dads murder and if he does choose to kill him he gets to decide how they kill him... It doesnt sound true to me that government would let a kid choose the death of someone... Please give me a reason how it true or how its not true

They will take the families thoughts into consideration if he is tried and found guilty, ie, if the family says they don't believe in the death penalty, they MAY not kill him.  But military law will be followed so, basically, he is blowing smoke.

I am assuming we are talking about an American killed in Iraq under US law; if the murdered person was Iraqi and it falls under Iraqi law which is Sharia based, who knows.

It's not true. Saddam was hung so...I'm guessing it would be death by strangulation or a firing squad.

that is very obvious thats its not true the government if they did kill him it would have to be humane which is a lethal injection so yeah and they would not leave it in a decision of a child
