Iraq war: spinning out of control?

Wow, first of all, Yahoo News says 180 (!) people killed by violence since this Tuesday.

If that many people died by violence in a US city in 4 days, all the news medias will broadcast breaking news.

It looks like Iraq is spinning out of control. Although politicians say "It's really getting better", but it looks like it is not.

I think if this kind of violence continues, then it will eat up all of the US money before becoming peaceful.

Do you think Iraq is spinning out of control? Or do you think Iraq is getting better, just like the politicians say?

I will not criticize whatever you say, so please feel free to express your honest thinking.

Thanks!

  1. Obviously there are a lot of different things that could be talked about and viewpoints to be had with Iraq. What seems to be perhaps most worrying is that at the moment we seem to be funding both sides of what will eventually amount to a civil war. A lot of money is essentially being spent day after day in order to pay people off to avoid violence from escalating, and while in many cases violence is starting to go down (present story excepted of course) its obviously from a tenuous relationship and not from a deep rooted effort to change.

Clearly people are not going to be willing to support staying in Iraq indefinently, but i think there should be a lot of questions about how long and to what exact goals the military should be targeting while they are there.

  2. There is an increase in deaths just as there was a decrease in percentage deaths. Your question is honestly put and I see the fear . We in America will have to decide soon and relieve the president from furthering the war. A woman we can vote for will end the matter or a Republican will continue the war . We will collectively will have to decide.

None the less until the election takes place I am still glad to see the violence in the distant countries where the angry people are and not have them sweeping into our land with mass destruction again. It is a consolation to me that with enough money and men the terrorist is halted . Can we spend all we have doing this? We shall see real soon.

  3. I think that we are screwed and we should have started bringing back our troops awhile ago. It scares me that there are people over there and they don't know what they're fighting for.
