  1. Bloody Sunday in 1972 was the turning point against the British Army and was the start of the troubles.

After what happened there was long queues of Derry men lined up to join the IRA.

  2. it doesn't have anything to do with those events.

Bloody Sunday was confined to a small area of Derry (the Bogside housing estate).  It centered around a civil rights march earlier in the day.

Battle of the Boyne was fought between King James of England and King William of Holland while the Easter Rising was an attempt by Irish rebels to win independence from Britain by occupying certain strategic buildings across the country.

Its like comparing the LA riots of 1992 with the war of independence in the states, completely different and nothing in common

  3. Rossie that answered already is correct. However this is not the only Bloody Sunday. There was the "original Bloody Sunday" I suppose you may call it in Dublin when the British army drove their armoured vehicles into a pitch when a  GAA match was under way (think it was in Croake Park maybe?) & opened fire on the crowd & players & killed lots of innocent civilians. That was back when we were still under British rule. The Bloody Sunday you usually hear about is the one the recent movie was made about up North after a civil rights march.
