  1. Kindergarten is used in some posh schools in Northern Ireland. They start at 3 or 4.

  2. preschool they have to be three by first day off term in Sept most preschools offer a 2 years programme as introduction to school.not all children go to pre school some go to nursery Montessori or drop in.pre school not compulsory but gives children a great start for school as preschool more of a structured setting geared towards preparation for school.minium age for starting scool is 4 by start of school year but alot dont start til 5

  3. its not called kindergaten its called pre-shcool or playschool

    at age 3-4

then they go into school at age 5 to junior infants and then to senior infants then to 1st-6th(like 1st-6th grade) class after that so therefore irish kids get about 2 years more education than americans

  4. It's called playschool in Ireland and it is optional, Kids go when they are 3-4 years old.

  5. Its not called kindergarden in Ireland....can be called playschool maybe..children start school at 3-4 its called first infants - the name might vary from county to county....before 3-4 they go to a creche or montessori

  6. We don't have kindergarten.  Children start school at age 4-5.  Before that, they might have gone to playschool or montessori school for 1 or 2 years, but it's not necessary.
