Ireland announce eight major changes in their squad – Six Nations update
Declan Kidney, the Ireland’s coach announced the final Irish squad that will fronting Scotland on Saturday in a RBS Six Nations clash at Murrayfield. Kidney added eight new players to the Irish side in starting lineup, demonstrating one of the biggest experiments
of Six Nations so far.
Andrew Trimble made his way back after recovering from a hand injury. Tommy Bowe is also included in the Irish first fifteen, he just reported back after a knee injury.
The return of 26 year old Bowe is a perfect boost that Ireland required at the moment. Ireland’s fortunes have been blessed by his entry and Kidney’s morale is levelled up. Tommy Bowe has proved himself to be a vital player for the team and made himself
a need for the squad in the past two years.
The other important development is the return of Roan O’Gara at fly half. He has been included in a side which is stronger in the backline, which means his responsibilities have been doubled and he will have to look after and guide the forwards. O’Gara will
be winning his 106thcap in the weekend’s fixture and will make his start for Ireland after long time. Last time he started for his national side was against Samao in November.
Kidney has replaced Tomas O’Leary at scrum half by Eoin Reddan. Other than these eight changes, the team remains the same. The backline which performed well against France is expected to create a deadlock for Scotland, who are craving for a victory try.
The almost new Irish squad that will be playing Scotland on this weekend is:
