  2. Hi..

Gee you are asking for the history of Ireland.  Well, I'll start at the beginning..

Government is similar to England has a parliamentary government and a President.  The President is really only a figure head.

Weather - the coldest is gets usually in winter is 32 degrees F in the summer around 82 degrees F.  But it rains a lot.  Usually only a sprinkle or light rain never a down pour.

Social Life - If you like bars you'll love it here.  Lots of pubs and places to eat or just to get together to talk or meet people.  People here are very sociable. love to talk.

Food - Anything and Everthing... you can get any kind of food here from Chinese to Jewish food and everything in between.

Most people here like the basics..meat, potato and veg.

The food here is really good, I like it.

You should come for a visit.  The flights now are pretty reasonable and the weather is getting really good.

"It is unlike anywhere that I've been before"

  3. Ya i know cos i'm irish it's good but the goverment are taxing the balls off us but other the that you can enjoy the wind and the rain and nice cloudy skies it's a lovely place and i'm glad i'm here!

  4. Well im Irish and i say

Government: Ah its ok sure Bertie aint that bad! (ya know...the taoiseach) and the president (Mary Mackaleiss(cant spell)) aint to bad either!

Weather: Hot in the summer...sometimes...and you do NOT wanna be in Wexford in the winter anyway coz it rains and rains but never snows! EVER!

Social Life: Ah well ya can have a right craic when ya actually go lookin for places to go!

Food: Well if you love your spuds you've come to the right place boi! We loves our spuds we do!

  5. The south of Ireland (most of it) besides six of the 32 counties make up the republic of Ireland. The north is part of the UK.

The weather is in general pretty bad, rain rain rain, hence all the green. However if you are coming soon the weather here the past few weeks is fab, very sunny+dry. Since just before Easter. We should have a fairly decent summer here weather wise, the rest of the time it's pretty bad weather though. Windy and showery, cold but not cold enough to get decent snow, just cold enough to make you miserable. But right now its nice.

Social Life- depends on your age.

here is the breakdown for average young people

12-15 year olds go to local youth discos/cinema

16-18 year olds go to discos where only the over 18's can drink/cinema/concerts/parties/lots of random things, the alcohol consumption in Ireland for this age is very very high.

18-29 year olds - very varying, lots of pubs, drinking, clubbing is hugely popular, but everyone goes to (one of the many) local pubs first. The social life is best within this age group.

30+ year olds - I have no idea, nights in dvd's. knitting??, no I'm just kidding, I guess it's similar enough to 18-29, much less clubbing, more pub(ing)...

Foodwise.Depending on what your looking for, we have it ;). If you are traveling here you might like to try traditional Irish foods like Guinness/stew/bacon and cabbage/ and stuff like that, they are still hugely popular in Ireland, especially in the countryside. But the cuisine is very universal, American, Italian,  Chinese, whatever, it is all very popular here... Meat, bread, and milk are all great because they are mostly produced here on our little island. Irish butter is great, really great! All dairy products are very good actually. Whenever I travel abroad I always miss Irish food, especially the milk, butter and bread. In many little cafes the brown bread, scones, buns and stuff are all homemade that morning. Yea the foods good!!!

Hi + Bye to you too...

  6. Well being Irish myself I'II have to admit if your up for a good time the Irish know how to do it! The social scene is fantastic that will appeal to all tastes! As regards the weather, we are expecting quite a warm summer but don't be suprised if it rains! And our government (Well there is an election coming up) has a prime minister as head (taoiseach) and we have a president more like figure head though!

  7. Yeah... It's flippin COLD there!  I remember going with my mom during their "warm" time.  We had on jackets that made us look like penguins and we were still freezing!!!

Bunratty Castle was fun.  Glendaloch was pretty cool... and the moors that you passed though were neat... the land is JUST like the calendars and pictures you've seen... GORGEOUS!!!  Just bring long johns and thick socks!
