Question:

Ireland backpacking trip - ease of finding accomodations?

A few friends and I are going to be doing some backpacking in southwest Ireland in early summer. We're doing it all on foot. Does anyone with experience in this area know how hard it is to find accomodations (camp grounds, hostels, hotels) on the fly? We'd like not to make reservations ahead of time and just kind of go where the road takes us. It that feasible? Also, for anyone from Ireland out there, are the roads backpacker friendly? Thanks all.

  1. You'll find B&Bs all over the place, in every town and village there's one. Go where you like but keep a map with you. I wouldn't advise walking on the main roads and some of the back roads can be fairly bendy. Be careful and enjoy your holidays

  2. i use this site it great

  3. well taking it as the road takes you is easier in the start of the summer, so hostels should not be booked out however july and august we're expected to receive 4 million visiters so if its around then youre visiting i would book into some places !!
