  1. very very very very expensive.......good luck:)

  2. I live in Dublin for most of the year. It's very expensive. Much more so than the US (I assume that's where you're coming from).

There are plenty of backpacker hostels, just be careful what area of the city you stay in.

North inner-city is not terribly pleasant.

  3. Like most European countries, it can be expensive to visit Ireland, but there are a lot of good bargains to be had.

Instead of staying at a hotel, opt for a Bed & Breakfast. These accomodations are operated out of private homes and are strictly regulated by the government (who give approved B&Bs a shamrock symbol that they can post). Fees include a full Irish breakfast and the B&Bs can be found throughout the country.

Food can get pricey since Ireland now can boast good food (and it is very good) and has many high-end restaurants. But there are plenty of inexpensive places to dine in and many pubs. The key is to eat like the locals. There are also a lot of ethnic resturants, especially in the larger cities.

Admission to most attractions are very reasonable (just a few Euro per person), and there are always plenty of things to see and do that don't cost anything. Some of the best times in Ireland was just strolling the streets of Cork in the evening, or listening to the musicians at night at a local bub for the price of a pint.

Ireland is one of the most tourist-friendly countries out there and is well worth visiting.

  4. Yes Dublin is the most expensive city in Europe but if you look around you can get bargains.Don't stay in Dublin city for example.I have lived in Dublin most of my life so I know it is dear................

  5. I live in Dublin and I would have to say it is one of the most expensives cities.

  6. Tis not cheap!!

  7. EXPENSIVE!!!

if u compare it to spain, or even america, latin american whatever Dublin is pricey. try to find alteranative ways to do things. like, hmmm, stay in hostels i heard some were okay of stay with a friend. it's a shame public transportation there kinda well sux. try and walk a lot or share cabs. etc...good luck. can't give you prices cause i was retarded and didnt pay attention....money disappeared. i o remember iw ante dot buy soe silver celtic rings there and d**n!!! let's just say if i bought the same thing at home in north africa they would be less than half the pice, i spend 82 euros on  just three simple silver rings. where i live they would have cost me, all three together, about 40-50. big difference.

  8. Dublin :very expensive.  To go to a nice restaurant for one person to inc, starters, main course, dessert also including drinks it could cost from 40 euro....

a hotel for one night in a room that could keep two would be around 100.  it gets more expensive then as you get closer to the city center.

snacks: like a sndwich would be around 4 euro and up...

but Dublin is expectional as you go down the country it gets less expensive....Galway is a really nice city...and good for shopping...

if you want to know how the weather is doing around the time your coming over send me an e-mail and i would be happy to help!!

    hope you enjoy your stay!!

  9. see the real Ireland, stay away from the tourist traps of Dublin, Killarney and Galway. Go to Donegal and Belfast. The southern cities are very expensive

  10. Where are you coming from? Cheaper than the UK, more expensive than the US.

  11. Food and drink will cost ya shed loads.

  12. With all that christmas turkey it must be expansive

  13. I would have chosen to stay somewhere other than Dublin personally. It's way too expensive there.

But as for costs in Dublin, it might be a shock comming from the US. But if you're only comming from the Uk, you've no need to worry. Best bet is ask arround for cheaper and better deals. Don't just stick to big establishments.

Apart from that, I reccomend you visit other counties of Irleland aswell, such as Kerry, Cork, Clare and Limerick. There's lovely countryside you won't get anywhere else and some of the pubs are marvelous. Especially some of the live music ones. Don't forget to do the ring of kerry either. It's top notch, especialy if you have a motorbike!

  14. i dont know if its exPENsive, but its certainly exPANsive - its dublin every day

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

  15. its expensive really expensive iit one of the expensive countries in europe

  16. Ireland is quite expensive, actually. I recommend you bring plenty of money, and enjoy it though, because its a beautiful country, and it's well worth whatever money you spend.
