Ireland for school?

I gotta give a talk in my english class, it has to be about ireland. any ideas what i can talk about?

Since yesterday was MLK day, you could talk about the troubles in Northern Ireland. What most people outside of Ireland do not know is that the troubles started out civil rights marches by catholics who wanted equal rights. They were inspired by civil rights marches here in the US.

-economy: celtic tiger

-history: maybe the famine in the 19th century when millions of Irish died or emigrated to America and England

-tourism: the country as a tourist destination, what attracts people to Ireland

-entertainment: film industry/famous writers and poets/Irish music

just pick a subject you're interested in and you'll be fine, hope this helps :D

Well you could talk about the small country with a population of 4.5 million. About the irish poets and dramatists like Oscar Wilde, W.B.Yeats, or Nobel prise for Literature winner Seamus Heany. You'll find lots of info about these and many more famous Irish writers on Google!
