What are the laws for owning and carrying a firearm in Ireland?

  1. Plain and simple we arent allowed them, if they are hunting riffles u need a permit, guns are not easily come across in ireland.... thankfully.


  2. we're not America. guns aren't handed out like toys. hence we have no high school massacres. so don't even bother asking coz we're not interested in becoming America with it's crazy gun laws and even crazier followers.

  3. They're fairly illegal, especially if you're carrying an M16 down the road from copper faced jacks and caught by 2 off duty gardai.

    "Firearms certificates are only granted for recreational or sporting purposes. You will not be granted a licence for any weapon for the purposes of personal protection, protection of others or the protection of property."
