Ireland honeymoon?

We're looking to take a 10 day vacation in Ireland. We have no idea where to start, where to go, how to go or how much it'll cost!! My husband doesn't want to go to a bunch of places that are too tourist-y. He wants authentic all the way. Though I do want to see at least one castle! We're 21 and 20 and from Corpus Christi, TX if it helps! We want to see traditional, not tourist ireland. Thanks all!

  1. wow jess you lucky lucky thing! there's so much - from carrickfergus castle, to the castle at Trim. The fabulous coastline round Co Antrim. The Fort at Dunree (and not too touristy either!), Inishowen, County Donegal (keep away from the tourist trap h**l of the town), the Burren - so romantic, so barren, the Cliffs of Moher...

I hope this gives you a start

ooooo and for somewhere quiet and romantic try Ballyvaughan and stay at the creperie in the village. Couiple of good pubs there too!

    have great fun!

  2. My personal favourite place in Ireland is Donegal, deserted beaches, wonderful scenery, but you are really spoilt for choice.

Hopefully the links below will help you find the perfect place.

  3. I had a couple stay at my house in Donegal from California  for a week out of a two week honeymoon and according to them their only regret was not having spent their entire honeymoon there. Personally I luv going back to Donegal. Check it out "www.culandoonhouse.com"
