Ireland’s middle order batsman Niall O’Brien on Saturday acknowledged the threat posed by the in-form West Indian batsman Chris Gayle, as they gear up to play the Caribbean side in a must win World T20 Group B encounter, at the R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo

“Hopefully one of the main bowlers can take a scalp early,” said the left-handed middle order batsman while speaking to media reporters on the eve of the crucial match. “Gayle’s obviously a fine player but he's human and he can make a mistake. We need to
make sure we take a chance when it comes," he added further.

Meanwhile, the Irish contingent is sweating over the fitness of several players who have been struck by a bout of gastro. But O’Brien claimed that the side will forget about any lingering sickness once the match gets underway at R Premadasa, at 14:00 GMT
