Ireland trip, Need advice!?

I'm planning a trip to Ireland with a group of friends in about a year. We are pretty much set on staying in Dublin. I need the names of any good/worthwhile bars, inns, and restaurants in the Temple Bar area. And perhaps a little further out.

Dublin is a great city but if you want great bars, you should come to Clonakilty, West Cork. It's famous for a great time and great pubs there are about 3 on every street here . It was even on the Heinekan Christmas add. Great spa near the beach too.

honestly even if you're just going to be in Ireland for a week, you have to leave Dublin. its agreat city and there's lots to do but its not the best of what Ireland has to offer.

The first time I was in Ireland I went for less than a week. We rented a car and drove to the west coast. It was so unbelievably gorgeous. Killarney National Park, the Dingle Penninsula, stone fences, narrow little roads, colorful towns...You cannot spend the ENTIRE week in Dublin (although it is a nice city). Even the areas right outside of the city are lovely and full of ancient sites. Please do your research, you will not regret it.

There's nothing than doing your own home work

Go to your public library and take out some books,and videos about traveling to Ireland and

get yourself a very good ideas about the whole

country and it's history of course beside the Bars and all the places that you'd  like to visit.

Temple Bar is pretty awful...very fake and touristy you'll barley see an Irish person there and lets face it we are the world's best drinkers.  The best bar there is The Palace on Fleet Street-really nice and traditional (though not in an Oirish way).

You should check out the Camden Street area for a more normal bar scene.  

I love Dublin but if you want to have a holiday that involves mainly going to pubs Galway is a better bet really-enjoy your trip-Slainte!!

you should go to galway for some of your trip...its known as the irishest town in ireland ..(if irishest is a word lol) plenty of pubs , great scenery

i dont know too much about the scene in dublin, tho if ya stick to the temple bar area im sure all the pubs there are pretty good. Prob your best bet is just head out on the town and ask some people ya meet in the street or pubs where to hang out

I agree that the Temple Bar area is disappointing, and I would recommend Galway and the Quay area as being a good place for drinking.  Lots of "hen" parties to watch--young women dressed up with bizarre accessories prior to weddings.
