  1. I visited Ireland for the first time last year, and stayed in Spiddal, Galway, where my Dad was born. Unfortunately, it rained non-stop, for 2 whole weeks, so we didn't get to spend too much money, as it rained so heavily, we couldn't go out. As for souveniers, I bought an Irish tin whistle back with me, and learned to play it, practicing for months. I am a natural, and now play in a band in Cornwall, but look forward to my next stay in Spiddal, where I will play in "Tigh Hughes's bar" with my cousin Colm, who plays there, and encouraged me to practice hard. Have fun in Ireland, it's very beautiful, and very WET.

  2. Very expensive. Go and check out hotel rates online if you don't believe me. Even the budget hotels are high.

You can always invest in a bus pass to travel around, but you won't be able to leave the beaten track. If you are really fit, a cheap way of getting around is to hire a bike, even cheaper to bring your own, and stay in campsites - but you are dependent on good weather and that's something that cannot be guaranteed in Ireland at any time of the year.

Stay outside of Dublin, for a start. Limerick is the cheapest city at the moment. Limerick is also a hotbed of the arts, so there are a lot of free things on, like exhibition openings where wine is served to art lovers, and there are performance things on too. Most of the cafes there have this free magazine that promotes the city and shows what's on where, in particular the freebies.

    Souvenirs? Get good  photos.

  3. Ireland is very expensive we aint the 2nd richest country in Europe for nothing ya know lol,Souveniors to bring home would be leprechuan figures tea towels and rocks(Irish sweets) and if your lucky a handsome jolly Irish man lol,When do you plan to visit?Best time would be the Irish summer,Don't come in the winter you will freeze to death and there will be no attractions or not much happening.

  4. First of all decide where you want to be.  If you stay in County Clare which has a host of things to see and do  you can stay at a  hostel.  Shannon Airport would be the best way to go.  Then Jamaica Inn in Sixmilebridge is only 6 miles away.  You can look it up on the web.  Its a hostel.  Ireland has some of the best hostels in Europe and its still pretty safe.  You can walk to the some nice pubs.  Or catch the bus into Limerick which is only 10 miles away.  Or catch the bus to Ennis or the coast like to Lahinch and see the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren.

Then you can catch the bus or the train from Limerick into Dublin and hang out for a few days or over night..

If you come into Dublin you have to take that hour train ride and go see charleville castle my friends stay there.  Its in Tullamore and  you catch the Hueston Station train.

A rail pass is cheap you can get on for like three days or more and ride the train around Ireland.

The key is plan your trip.

If you want to be in Dublin get your flight for Dublin

    Have fun
