I am planning on taking my mother on a one week vacation somewhere. If I were to say Ireland, would that be a good choice or a bad one. People have told me that would be awesome and others have told me that it wouldnt be a good idea because its not safe over there right now...And if we were to go does anyone a good hotel to stay in thats would be good for tourists (has a lot of tourist spots)...Thanks for the help!!!

  1. What's not safe about it??? The only bad thing about it really is the expense and the weather, at the moment. An awful lot of rain. I'd recommend Dublin or Galway, two opposite sides of the country. I found a few links that might help, at least with Dublin. Enjoy your stay!

  2. go on take her she will enjoy Ireland

  3. Ireland is super safe!! In the Republic of Ireland, they have a fantastic network of Bed and Breakfasts if you are renting a car. In town, I have no hotel suggestions but the DART in Dublin is a great to commute into the city from the suburbs.

  4. Ireland is probably one of the sfaest places you could travel to......dont hesitate to go there its a beautiful country with fanatstic contrasts....check out

  5. well the people that told you Ireland wasn't safe are talking sh**e and have no clue.  Ireland is alot safer than the big cities in USA or very large European cities like Paris, London, Moscow etc.

The republic has always been safe for tourists (crime in the republic of ireland is almost non-existant). You will be robbed; due to high prices :D

northern ireland has had its troubles in the past but the violence there has ended.

Ireland is a large country, it might look small on a map but you need a clear idea of where in ireland you want to visit as it takes a full day to drive from the north of the country (Donegal) to the south (Cork).

Dublin city and country, Galway city and county, Kerry, Donegal, Cork, Mayo would six places I would recommend to visit.  There is little chance of doing them all on a one-week vacation however.
