The discarded Indian pacer, Irfan Pathan, is hopeful of making a comeback into the national side ahead of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750’s 2011-12 tour of Australia.
The 27-year-old seam bowler from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Baroda-c769 is eager to prove his mettle before the BCCI selectors pick up a squad for the tour of Australia, scheduled to begin in the latter half of December.
The left-arm seamer, who has played 29 Tests and 107 One Day Internationals for India, told the media reporters on Saturday that his ultimate dream these days is to get a call from the national selectors for India’s tour of down under and is working really
hard for that.

“If the selectors give me opportunity there (Australia) or before, I will be on top of the world... That is the dream that I am chasing now," he added further.

Pathan holds remarkable Test figures of 100 wickets form 29 Tests at an average of 32.26, but has not made a Test appearance since April 2008.
The Indian selectors are more inclined to pacers these days. Replying to a query regarding this tendency of BCCI selectors, Pathan said that what matters more is to be a good bowler and not the pace. He said that what is important for the fast bowlers is
to have an ability to swing the ball.
