Irfan Pathan feels sad for his brother – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/YK-Pathan-c2815, as the latter ended up on the losing side in the second game of the fifth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The match between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Daredevils was interrupted by rain and the match was curtailed to 12 overs per innings. The Knight Riders were looking favourites to clinch the match at one stage before Irfan played a blinder of an innings
and changed the course of the game.
Ironically, Yusuf was playing for the Knight Riders and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Irfan-c64444 struck a boundary of him in the second last over of the innings. The two brothers are very close to each other and this is the reason why Irfan is not happy with the fact that his brother was
on the losing side.
Speaking about the situation, Irfan said that he is a professional cricketer but he never likes to play and do well against his brother.
Irfan said, “That’s the only thing I don’t look forward to. He’s my brother and will be with me. He was bowling the crucial 11th over. I hit him for a four and a single. I feel sad for him.”
The left hander struck some meaty blows to Kolkata’s bowlers especially, Merchant de Lange. Irfan believes that the fast bowler’s pace was ideal for stroke-play and the left hander used it to good effect.
“Marchant de Lange’s pace, it seemed, was just right for batting on this pitch. It got better for batting in the second half,” the all-rounder expressed.
Kolkata possesses a very strong batting line-up but http://www.senore.com/Cricket/M-Morkel-c73528 was on song as he got three crucial wickets at the start of the innings and this gave his team the advantage.
Irfan also praised the performance of Morkel and feels that the wickets of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Manoj-Tiwary-c1890 in the same over changed the complexion of the game.
“Morne Morkel’s one over changed it all for us. The two wickets turned the momentum our way. When you lose two wickets in an over, it’s tough to set a target," he added.
