In the wake of a heavy loss at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 is missing some key figures in their bowling attack. Irfan Pathan was one such cricketer who made a very promising start,
however due to injury, his bowling slowly waned, and even though he was a decent enough batsman he could not make the cut into the national team. Of late though Irfan Pathan has come out from under the wraps and stated that he would most certainly come back
in the national side.
It has been almost two weeks since Pathan has recovered from a stress reaction in his back which has kept him out of the Ranji Trophy in the domestic cricket circuit of India. The injury has also resulted in him being kept out of the 30 probable players
to play in the world cup for India. Even though Pathan got snubbed by the selection committee he remains confident that he would be able to make a comeback.
"I have that confidence because I have started bowling and I see it [the ball] is doing something. I am working on something that was missing over the last two years. I am pretty sure it is going to make a big difference. If you look at my age, I am just
26. There are lots of years left in my bag," Pathan said.
While talking to an international news agency Pathan said that he was thrilled at the prospect of seeing his brother get selected for the World Cup. He said that even if one Pathan brother could not make it into the squad the other one did, which was great
news for the family. Irfan expressed confidence in being able to return for the side in a month’s time. He said he will then be ready to play international level cricket and would be willing to play outside the country provided he gets an offer. He also said
that he was keen on playing in the Vijay Hazare cup which is the domestic ODI cup for India that will take place in February around the same time as the World Cup.
He admitted that the injury was particularly frustrating for him since he wants to play for his country in the World Cup especially when it is being played on home ground. However he said that he has made peace with his injury since they form an integral
part of a players life and all players go through such patches.
"I knew because of my injury [I would not make the squad]. I need to first sort it [the injury] out. To be fit, and then match-fit. The BCCI knows about my injury. And I knew that if I have not played any matches due to injury, it will be difficult to get
into the 30. By the time I play, it will be January-end and the World Cup is in February. I won't be match-fit, and you have to be playing matches to be picked," Pathan said.
