Irina-Camelia Begu expels Akgul Amanmuradova in 1stround – Hansol Korea Open 2011
Romaine Irina-Camelia Begu expelled Akgul Amanmuradova of Uzbekistan in the opening draw of the Hansol Korea Open 2011. Both the players battled it out on the hard courts of Olympic Tennis Courts in Seoul, South Korea on the 20th of
September 2011. After one hour and three minutes of play, world number 38 Begu won in straight sets of 6-1, 6-3 victory.
Amanmuradova opened the set to 1-0 and was able to hold serve only in the first game. Begu on the other hand, was dominating in from the very start of the opening round of the first set. Both players won on their serves. After
that there was no stopping Begu, as she broke her opponent thrice to power through the remaining of the set to see a comprehensive victory of 6-1 in just 30 minutes of the game.
The Romaine was a stronger opponent and did not setup a single break point opportunity for her adversary in the entire set. With a sturdy baseline play she smashed a couple of winners and kept a geometric precision.
Opening the second round of the match was Begu, and both the players held their serve for the first four games tie the score at 2-2. As the two players continued to rally, they were winning on alternate games for the following
two games to again level the score at 3-3.
The match could’ve tilted either way but it was Begu’s lucky day as she held her serve in the seventh game and took a mini lead, she was able to secure her lead when she broke her challenger in eighth game and was now two breaks
up at 5-3. In the ninth game Begu was serving for the match, while, her Uzbek adversary was serving to stay in the match but Amanmuradova came under pressure and double faulted on her second and eventually endorsed her opponent with  the second set and the
match.
21 year-old Begu was able to smash zero aces, minimize her double faults, and was able to clog the match with an excellent return game, that assisted in her attaining almost twice as many points as Amanmuradova’s in the total match
points.
