Irish Boy to unleash his best in Pin Point Recruitment Handicap at Catterick
Irish Boy might not be able to get the best of odds, but has a good chance of doing well in a competitive competition at Catterick on Friday, May 25th. The 4-year-old, who was pretty progressive last summer, is all
set to show his magic in the class 4 Pin Point Recruitment Handicap, which will be started at 20:05 GMT.
Irish Boy performed superbly in 2011. He started off the season with a couple of fine performances in April last year. He continued his good form and demonstrated an excellent show the following month.
After three fantastic victories and two seconds, Paul Midgley’s trainee lost his direction and presented two back-to-back dismal performances. However, he quickly brought things back to normal, doing a classy act in a high status
meeting at the end of the season.
Desert Millennium’s son was last seen at Nottingham, where he did well on a solid surface to ensure the runner-up place in the Red Box Recorders Mobile Phone Recording Handicap.
He is going to face almost similar conditions at Catterick today, thus one can easily expect him to resume his journey on a winning note.
Among his rivals are: Lucky Numbers, Select Committee, Bronze Beau, Lost In Paris, Nomoreblondes, Bertoliver, Invincible Force, Black Annis Bower, Indian Trail, Tabaret, Almond Branches and Nickel Silver. The winning runner
will walk away with a cash prize worth £4,075.
Lucky Numbers is undoubtedly a talented runner, but things are not going to the plans for him these days. David O'Meara’s trainee recently made his seasonal debut, finishing seventh at Ripon.
On the other hand, Select Committee was relatively impressive last time out. On a good surface at Beverley, he missed the crown only by ¾ a length in the Annie Oxtoby Memorial Handicap earlier this month. So, he can be a threat
to Irish Boy.
Bronze Beau is also likely to get decent odds, but not in our shortlist. In both of his previous races, Linda Stubbs’s trainee was unable to do anything special.
Irish Boy is fresh after a long layoff and has got favourable conditions at Catterick. So, there is no reason why he should not have a big run today. Good luck to everyone.
