Irish Future Series 2012: Monika Radovska crushes Fiona Bain in Women’s Singles second round
Latvia’s emerging player Monika Radovska proved her mettle on court and advanced into Women’s Singles quarter-final after defeating Scotland’s Fiona Bain in second round contest at the Irish Future Series 2012 on Friday, October 12, in Ireland.
The impressive Monika, who is positioned at number three in Women’s Singles draw of the championship, was on a completely different level while playing against her lower ranked Scottish rival and easily won the battle in a lopsided manner.
Monika started her campaign in a dominating way and she did not spare any chance for her rival to fight back into the match and won it with a one-sided margin in straight games by taking just 17 minutes on court.
In the meanwhile, the un-seeded Fiona found herself in all sorts of trouble as she played quivering badminton and also remained unable to cope up with the speed of her rival. She lost the match without showing her class with a huge margin on the board.
The lofty Monika started her run in a remarkable fashion as she played with superb precision and managed to establish an incredible lead until the end of opening half.
After the one-minute break in this Women’s Singles contest, Fiona tried to employ attacking badminton but she failed to take the bird early and also remained unable to place her shots in targeted areas.
On the other hand, Monika stayed composed on court as she did not commit any mistake in executing her powerful shots and eventually finished up the opening set with a huge 21-10 score on the board.
In the following set, the in-form Monika continued her impressive run on court by playing in the similar fashion and again set up an early lead without wasting any time.
Monika was quite comfortable as she did not face trouble in setting up a huge lead until the one-minute break.
After the interval, Monika raced away towards the ending points of second game and ended it up in a staggering fashion with a huge 21-7 score on the board.
The in-form Monika easily secured her berth in Women’s Singles quarter-final by winning the second round contest with a huge margin of 21-10 and 21-7.
