Irish Greyhound dazzled on Saturday evening in the Landbrokes.com Irish Greyhound Derby.
Razldazl George, an Irish greyhound, took Heat 10 in the second round, with his magnificent performance, he made himself the star of the Landbrokes.com Irish Greyhound Derby.
On the 13th of July 2011, the three-year-old Razldazl raced against five greyhounds, and won the Landbrokes.com Irish Derby title.
This open race, covering the distance of 550 yards, was held at Shelbourne Park, a greyhound racing stadium, in South Dublin, inner city suburb of Ringsend.
The Brindle dog started his chase from trap 1, as always he ran really fast from the very beginning of the race.
Gradually with his inspiring and out class quest for victory, the Irish greyhound won the purse and became a good stayer.
Razldazl won the prize money of €250, covering the distance in 29 minutes and 54 seconds, his estimated time being same as the winning time.
Trainer Dolores Ruth was proud of his brave fighter, because last week on the 6th of August 2011 he was declared first in Ladbrokes.com Irish Greyhound Derby Round 1's Heat 24.
Droopys Twirl, who was 2 lengths behind the winner, finished second, covering the distance in an estimated time of 29 minutes and 68 seconds.
The son of Westmead Hawk out of Droopys Rena, Droopys Twirl, from the early pace, strived against his contenders to win. However, despite leading the other greyhounds, he was not lucky enough to achieve the purse.
Mozzletoff, under trainer Marie Gilbert, finished third in the race by covering the distance in 29 minutes and 68 seconds.
The-golden-circle-ten-synd’s black b***h was 3.5 lengths behind Droopys Twirl.
She posed a major challenge to Droopys Twirl and strived really hard to give a hit, but the Irish b***h’s luck did not work out, and finished third in the race.
Trainer Pat Buckley’s Cabra Legend, came forth in the Landbrokes.com Irish Greyhound Derby.
The white and fawn dog tried his level best to reach the wire on time, but he was 3.5 lengths behind Mozzletof, and covered his distance in 30 minutes and 17 seconds.
Tyrur Henry, trained by Conor Fahy, who was 3.5 lengths behind Cabra Legend finished fifth in 30 minutes and 41 seconds.
Trainer Pat Buckley’s Slick Hawk was very slow from the beginning. He was left away by the other contenders. The two-year-old was 1.5 lengths behind Tyrur Henry, finishing in 30 minutes and 52 seconds.
