England’s Fontaine Mica Chapman showed a wonderful performance in Women’s Singles qualifying round when she toppled Poland’s Aneta Wojtkowska at the Irish International 2012 at Dublin, in Ireland, on Thursday, December 6.
The higher ranked Fontaine Mica, who was the third seeded player in Women’s Singles qualifying round, showed a strong character and remained successful in finishing off the match in just 28 minutes.
English shuttler had to employ all of her skills in the arena to prove her worth and she managed to wind up this contest in straight games with a close margin on the score board.
On the other hand, the un-seeded Polish lady played attacking and positive badminton throughout the clash but she failed to maintain her flow in the concluding points and lost the match with a respectable total.
In the first game, Fontaine Mica performed extremely well from the initial points as she did not show any mercy to her rival and took over the control of rallies.
Fontaine Mica was incredibly quick in taking the bird timely and she did not encounter any trouble in placing her strokes in targeted areas.
English shuttler could not set up a huge lead until the break as her Polish rival also played good badminton and stayed close until the end of first half.
After the mid-game interval, the lower ranked Aneta continued showing her remarkable skills and reached in the concluding points of the opening game.
However, Fontaine Mica showed her brilliance at this stage and remained successful in winning the ending points to bag the opening game with a close margin of 21-19.
In the second game, Aneta geared up her speed to play positive badminton in starting points but she failed to set up any considerable lead and remained struggling until the end of opening half.
After the break, the higher ranked Fontaine Mica entertained the crowd with her impressive craft as she played with precision and managed to end up the second game with a decent margin of 21-17.
Fontaine Mica won this qualifying round battle in straight games with a reasonable 21-19 and 21-17 score on the board.
