Irish Mission confident to register second straight success at Woodbine
The way Irish Mission ran and won Breeders' Stakes (Turf) on August 5 was really fantastic. Those, who watched that performance, have every reason to believe that the Mark Frostad trained chestnut filly will repeat the same in Northern Dancer Turf Stakes
Presented By Vtech (Grade 1) (3yo+) (Turf) that is scheduled for Sunday, September 16.
At the same venue of Woodbine, where the three-year-old novice runner has achieved two classic triumphs in her 5-race career, she will deliver another convincing performance against seven strong rivals. The course of 1 mile and 4 furlongs has firm surface
that is an ideal one for the fantastic filly to show her maximum guts.
The brilliant Canadian sprinter debuted in October 2011. She beautifully broke her maiden in the very second start named as Woodbine Oaks (Fillies) (Polytrack) that took place at Woodbine on June 3, 2012.
The talented racer moved on to finish as the runner-up in Queen's Plate Stakes (Conditions) (3yo Canadian-breds) (Polytrack). After one below-par performance, she elegantly grabbed a grand victory on August 5.
Both of the enthusiastic filly’s wins came under A. Solis, but unfortunately, he is not available for today’s marathon. Thus, she will be ridden by J. Stein.
In the light of these stats, it sounds quite logical to claim that Irish Mission will thrive convincingly. However, we must not overlook the pressure of Musketier who possesses a lot of experience and fighting spirit under his belt.
The Roger L. Attfield trained veteran horse’s last victory came on June 24. That was the Singspiel Stakes (Grade 3) (Turf), held at Woodbine. He went on to finish second in his last outing entitled as Stars And Stripes Stakes (Grade 3) (Turf).
Overall, the 45-start brilliant runner has 10 triumphs to his name. One thing is clear that Musketier will not let Irish Mission go unchallenged. Thus, a ferocious spar is expected between these two runners.
This heated clash will make the event interesting enough for the spectators. So let us move to the venue to watch the way Irish Mission fights and manoeuvres success to her favour.
