Irish People Only- How long does it take to get a legal separation in Ireland and how much does it cost?

I have looked at numerous websites and know what they have to say, but I would like to hear from people who have actually gone through the process and have experience with it. Also, if anyone can tell me approximately how long it takes to be granted an uncontested divorce, and the cost of that, I would like to know. How involved and difficult is it to go through all this? Any advice? Thank you in advance.

under Irish law you can apply for legal separation at any time, divorce is another matter, at the moment you can only apply for divorce( contested or otherwise) after four years of legal separation, however there is talk of a change in this law, if and when this happens is another thing. go talk to your solicitor, and he or she will be able to talk to you further and get things moving in this regard..
