Irish Songs?

Question

Im looking for irish songs, or themed songs that are a little more folksy, yet modern. Kinda like "Galway Girl" by steve earle.......i want it to sound like irish music but more up to date......the drop kick murphys are another good example......anyone know any?

lots and lots of stuff by people like The Corrs and Van Morrisson (Days like This)...and I agree with Irish Eyes - Saw Doctors.

Drop Kick Murphy's and Black 47are plastic paddies. play lots of rubbish esp for the US market.

Drop kick Murphys are an American band, as an Irish person I had never heard of them till I moved to the States. I think they may have an Irish band member but they really are an American band that have a following by Americans of Irish heritage. (It's a bit like the four leaf clover people in the USA associate with Ireland, not really anything to do with the country in reality). Like the person above me said, plastic paddies! lol

Gaelic Storm is a really good irish band. i thought the drop kick murphys were scotish?

oh, there's one i heard that goes like "My blood runs cold...yea my memory has just been sold...my angel is the centerfold". type in those lyrics in a search engine and it will probably come up. it has a really good irish beat to it.
