  1. i agree with heading west. if you dont go to connemara you could take a ferry out to the aran islands, which i've heard is even better. the ferry could probably be taken from galway city, i believe.

  2. The first Monday in June is known as the June bank holiday.  The sunlight will be shining for around 15 - 18 hours per day depending on where you stay.  It will be warmer than most months and dry, too.

    Have fun!

  3. You would have to be INSANE to go camping in Connemara. You would pitch your tent on a nice safe looking bog and then wake up the next morning in a lake.  The sunny south east (ha ha ha)...waterford/wexford area is nice.

  4. West coast, lots of deserted beautiful beaches, conemara - huge area in the west also....

  5. Head west and southwest, Clare, Kerry galway and mayo... best scenery in the country. There are good campsites, but you can find some nice locals who will allow you to pitch on their land once you ask permission and dont leave a mess behind.

Also you can camp out in forest parks but as in all parklands and forestry controlled areas its illegal to light fires unless you are in a designated area.

You may want to check out camping cards international for discounts and camping insurance cover
