  1. If you have 'won' and yet did not buy a ticket, then of course it is a fraud.

Ignore their emails and NEVER send them any information about yourself.

Anyone who wins on the real Irish lottery has to contact the lottery offices, the offices do not contact winners.

  2. there is a proper irish lottery, you have to buy the tickets in the bookies though rather than the newsagents, anything over the internets a scam though

  3. It's definitely a scam.  With the Irish lottery you have to buy a ticket from an authorised agent (usually a shop) and prizes can only be claimed from either

    a) a lottery agent for small prizes

    b) a post office for all but the main prizes and

    c) the lottery headquarters for all main prizes.

You can only claim prizes in person and with the winning ticket in hand.

    It's over €2 million tonight!!!!

  4. There is a real Irish lottery - it's more like gambling than the UK lottery.

So you have to buy your tickets in a bookmakers/betting shop, or you can enter at some online sites - the sites will be UK 'bookies'.

If you mean you've just had a email saying you've won money (out of the blue), it's a scam.  Don't click on any links in it and delete.

  5. it is a scam, dont do it! the will take your money!!!!

  6. You can't win something you didn't enter.  Do NOT send your address or bank account details to someone you don't know

  7. its a scam, look up www.rte.ie, its targeting irish people the bastads!!!

  8. IT IS A MASSIVE SCAM ,TO RIP YOUR OFF

  9. if you got a notice via email... its a scam.. delete it...

  10. You would be advised to follow everyones advice here. I've heard of a few horror stories about this.

If its too good to be true, then it probably isin't true.

    Ignore it.

  11. there is an Irish lottery, lotto, it's called. but you have to buy the tickets from an agent, usually a shop or the post office.

They do not do Internet sales, so I guess if its a mail, then it's a scam

website for proper Irish lotto is

    http://www.lotto.ie

  12. It's a scam.  They tell you that you have won money and they have you deposit the check into your account,  They get your bank information and steal the money you put in there and anything else you have.  These lotteries are popping up everywhere.  Don't do anything!
