now that england are out it looks like venables will b favourite again. Is it the fai that has linked themselves with this playboy who has little real intrest in management let alone Ireland, but will still take it for the money, or is it purely a media driven circus. Paul Jewel would be a great appointment but why has David O'Leary been disregarded so quickly by the media and persumably the FAI? Ireland hanve what can become a great team but it is nonetheless a young team that needs proper motivation, again Jewel would be perfect here but with the FAI still trying to appoint a board to pick a manager it looks like he may be gone. David O'Leary managed a team of 'kids' at Leeds and look were he got them before he was sacked. his worst finish was to finish outside the champions league places. he clearly has what it takes to work with our young team. 1. Venables should have been England manager all along! I can't understand why he wasn't chosen. It's a great mystery to me why we are an economically successful nation when we are generally incompetent when it comes to management - be it Sports or in the corporate world. We always need to bring in foreigners to provide good management. Why do they come here though? It's not for the weather.

  2. I agree with you David O'leary is a great manager
