Good Irish bands - The Frames, Bell X1 are both excellent, if it's good sing-song drinking songs you want, then The Chieftains or The Wolfe Tones have been around for ages and are just the job for a Super Sunday drinking session!

My best answer for you, like what you said for, chugging a few brews would definitely be The Pogues. You'll have a great time belting out there tunes while knocking back some Guinness.

Well, I'm not exactly clear what it is you want here.  Do you want Irish rock type stuff?  Or something else?  I prefer bands like Lunasa, Solas, Teada, Danu, and Altan.  And solo artists like Liz Carroll, Kevin Crawford, Tommy Peoples, and the like.  But that's the traditional dance music -- reels and jigs.  It's great stuff!
