  1. I don't know, but I think there are a ton of Mexican bars.

  2. Actually the Spaniards did not bring Irish slaves. There were exiled members of the Irish royal clans who helped colonize. In some cases their descendants became very important people in modern Mexico;President Álvaro Obregon, for example whose family arrived here as O'Brian and hispanicized their surname.

There are a few places in Mexico City that call themselves Irish Pubs. Some have Guinness and Irish whiskey, some don't. It has been a couple years, but I went to one called Dubliners on Mariano Escobedo. It was just OK drinkswise but the food was good and they had two rock bands.  It might have changed names since then.I know someoen who had an Irish trad. band in Mexico City for a while and they worked some bars.

There is also Celtics Pub which has three locations in Mexico City: Tamaulipas in Colonia Condesa,Campos Eliseos in the Polanco area and one in Plaza Loreto.

There might be others. These are the ones I know of.
