what is 'illegal' as gaeilge and how do you say "that there was alchol here"

"I told them i didnt know that there was alchol here"

Illegal as an adjective is neamhdhleathach.

For example,

illegal immigrant = inimirceach neamhdhleathach

It you want illegal as a verb then you can say "Tá sé neamhdhleathach" - "It is illegal"

Or you could just say "its against the law" - "in aghaidh an dlí" or

"i gcoinne an dlí"

that there was alchol here = go raibh alcól anseo

go raibh = that there was

alcól = alcohol

anseo = here

I told them I didnt know that there was alchol here = D'inis mé dóibh, ní raibh a fhios agam go riabh alcól anseo.

D'inis mé dóibh = I told them

ní raibh a fhios agam = I didnt know
