  1. The only exception to the Celtic genes, would be the Moorish influence, the moors invaded, that area of Europe. The influence is seen in those with dark skin, and kinky, curly hair.

The invasion occurred in 711 AD. For more info check the web.

  2. Scotch is a drink or tape manufacturer. Scots or Scottish are people from Scotland.

  3. We used to think the celts of Britain & Ireland were invaders who came from middle Europe in about 600 BC (the traditional 'home' of celts is Hallstatt,Austria) and somehow displaced the natives.

However, archaologists were doubtful about this for at least the last 20-30 years and now, with dna tests being more common (and with new ability to extract dna from ancient bones) it looks like the people we call 'celtic' today have a much older heritage than 600 bc. Dna tests from modern 'celts'did not match those from an ancient mid-European celt; in fact  most people in the British isles (including the English) had a close affinity to the Basques of Spain instead. The percentage was above 90 percent match in Wales & ireland. these 'basque' ancestors apparently migrated to Ireland & the British Isles over the land bridge that once joined them to Europe, after the glaciers of the Ice Age began to melt. Later (about 4/5000 BC)several other groups of people came to the  islands from the near & middle east bringing agriculture--these account for a large proportion of any remaining dna ancestry. it is now thought these later people (your megalith & tomb buillders) may have been the ones who first spoke a form of the celtic language.

in the iron Age,the time traditionally thought of as 'celtic', there was trade with Europe certainly, but no signs of mass immigration.

  4. gaelic is the ancient language the celts spoke and sometimes is still spoken and celts and scots are the same thing
