Irobot Roomba will not turn off

Question

My Roomba continues to run no matter what I do to try to turn it off. It doesn't move anywhere, it just runs. We removed the battery in hopes of re-setting it, but as soon as I put the battery back in, it starts up again without prompting. Is there another reset I'm missing? How do I get it back to normal?
