Iron Horse Warrior 3.0 or Forge Sawback 5xx ??

Question

I'm new to mountain biking and looking to buy a decent starter bike. After discounts and shipping I can get the Forge for about $335. The Iron Horse would run me about $150 more after shipping and taxes. The specs on both bikes are pretty close, with the slight edge going to the Iron Horse. I was just wondering if anyone has experience with these bikes and might know if the Iron Horse is worth the extra money. One of my buddies just got the Iron Horse and the other guy I'll be riding with has a Raleigh M80. I want something comparable to those 2 bikes as I'll be riding with those 2 guys and possibly participating in some adventure races with them. I don't mind spending the extra money if it's necessary, but to me it doesn't look like the Iron Horse is worth the extra $. I guess I just don't want to get out on the trail and have a bike that's outclassed. Can anybody offer any advice or suggestions?
