Iron Levels and Reflux Question?

Ok during my pregnancy I had very low iron levels so the doctor put me on iron supplements, I also have some really bad problem with heartburn. Doctors think it's GERD but I am not too sure yet. They put me on Nexium for it and I haven't had an episode of chest pain since I have been on it. My question is that will I have to be on this medication for the rest of my life?
