*******Iron deficiency********?

my first pregnancy my iron levels were really low this time round with my 2nd they are 10.8 which apparantly is not to bad what is the normal number they should be at?

  1. Liver is the usual recommendation, but most people say "Yuck" to the standard types.  German brautworst has liver, but looks and tastes like lunch meat.  Iron is also found in the green spinach leaves that people use for salads, and many other options. This site gives a list.

    My personal favorite.  Blackstrap Molasses Cookies with chopped pumpkin seeds and white chocolate chips.  Sounds a lot better than liver doesn't it ????


  2. 12- 14.  You can eat some liver.

  3. My best advice, just keep your regular ob appointments and continually ask your obgyn how your iron is doing. Your dr. will make sure things are going well, and if they aren't she or he might suggest iron supplements or diet changes. Good luck momma.
