I'm thinking of printing my on iron-on transfer, but I want to know more about them. I heard from online that they look crappy after one wear, but I want to hear your guys' opinions :)

  1. I used Avery brand and like it.  I'm sure there are other great brands too.

For a long time, I hand washed the tees and hung them outside on the line to dry, preferably in the shade.

  2. I use them frequently, and would recomend them.

There are, of course, a few things to watch for:

      -  The clear (for white shirts) transfers are less expensive and don't leave lots of out-of-place white on your shirts, but can only be used for very light shirts.

      -  White (for dark shirts) transfers are white -- anywhere you want the t-shirt to show through you need to cut away.

      -  Too many small pieces tend to come up in the wash.

      -  You can scorch them if you over-heat them.

      -  Launder in cold water only.  They do wear fast if you're using hot.

  3. If you do them according to the instructions with them, they work great. They are no less than the effort you put into them, nor what you could buy at any store similar. Some of the shirts purchased with the transfer already on them are nasty after one washing also.

Just take care to launder them according to the instructions.
