  1. You're kidding right?  Yeah, sure, if it makes you feel good, stop ironing.  And if it makes you feel good, go ahead and believe you are "saving the planet."  But at some point, you might want to apply science and reason to the whole "save the planet" thing.  See, it's not about feelings and emotions, unless you are tying to get a government grant or raise taxes.  It's science.  Too many decisions and opinions have already been distorted by the emotional side of the global warming/save the planet issue.  Get smart about things.  Jeez....

  2. GREAT question! Similarly, we waste so much energy making toast! If we stopped ironing, used 30deg washing powder and stopped making toast we would save MEGAWATTS of power. Good thinking, but hard to get people to change I fear! Pity.

  3. I only iron clothes that need it and look better for it, never the stuff that can't be seen or I can get away with.  So on that basis, I've been doing my bit to save the planet for years.

  4. I hang my clothes uo so hardly ever iron. Only shirts and things that are REALLY creased. If everyone did this it would probably save a load of energy.

  5. I never iron my clothes.

  6. i bet you use just one piece of toilet paper

  7. I find if I fold my clothes before putting them on the washing line it helps to keep them smooth and if I fold them when I take them off the line then hang them on coat hangers they don't need ironing at all. Of course some clothing needs to be ironed you need to decide which these are.

  8. I am going to use that as an excuse from now on in stead of 'I just don't like to iron'

  9. None ironing would obviously save a little energy. Not making clothes would save a lot more.

  10. you are right.  it does help environment.  because when you go to work with unironed shirts, you get fired then you cannot afford all those horrible toys that pollute the world, you know like tvs and cars.

i hang the clothes when they are washed and only iron what we need day to day, it annoys me people who spend hours ironing then they get creased all squashed in the wardrobe and they iron them again when they want to wear them.
