Irons On Fire fervent to win Races Handicap
Irons On Fire is fervent to unleash fiery run and finish first in the Watch Royal Ascot On At The Races Handicap (Div II) that will be held at Lingfield racecourse on Tuesday, June 12. The Class 6 contest over the distance of 7 furlongs is set to start at
5:20 (GMT).
The Lee Carter-trained veteran gelding owns a decent track record. He has won 3 of his total a dozen starts so far.
The four-year-old horse marvellously bagged a couple of consecutive victories on December 31, 2011 and January 7, 2012. First, he won Lingfield Park Owners Club Selling Stakes against half a dozen contestants.
The brilliant sprinter went ahead to clinch top spot in Sharpthorne Classified Claiming Stakes against 7 rivals. Both of these races took place at Lingfield. Thus, the maverick runner is well-familiar with the ground he will run on today.
The talented son of Tale Of The Cat out of One And Twenty stepped ahead to grab two consecutive thirds on January 20 and May 1.
Thus, Iron On Fire poses to be potential runner who will be able to beat his nine competitors including Links Drive Lady, My Vindication, Patavium Prince, Louphole, Silvee, Red Rhythm, Stargazy, Kyncraighe and Grand Honour convincingly for the prize money
worth £1,704.
None of his competitors is likely to challenge him in the race; however, Links Drive Lady and Patavium Prince will be able to perform well for the second spot.
Links Drive Lady finished 5th in each of her last two starts. Prior to this, the Dean Ivory-trained brown filly had grabbed a third on April 11. She is winless yet despite having 16 starts to her name. Even today, she is not likely to break her
maiden but she will surly fight for the second top position.
On the other hand Patavium Prince has won 6 of his total 64 races so far. His last success came in March 2011. Since December, he has been out-of-action. Today, the Jo Crowley-trained gelding is expected to stage a good comeback.
Though the competition will be thrilling but Irons On Fire is likely to thrive convincingly. Good luck to all the runners.
