I am planning on upgrading my golf clubs soon. I really want to get hybrids to replace my woods. I was just wondering what loft I should get on the hybrids to replace my 3,5, and 7 woods. Thank You for the help.

  1. Don't replace your woods because hybrids don't go as far

  2. I'd be willing to bet that when I was your age we did not even have an Idea that there would be anything called hybrids in our lifetime.  Today there is the concept that if you can't hit something out of the box than I'll just go buy another box and that will cure all my problems.  If we were going to play golf we just had to learn to hit the shots and the clubs that we needed to score well.  We just had to learn how to hit a 3 iron 220 yds with a draw into a tight pin.  we also had to be able to hit that same 3 iron faded into a pin 190 yds away.

  3. I am going through the same thing right now, however I wouldn't get rid of your 3 wood, that is a very important club but if you can't hit it and you need to replace it you would want a loft of about 13 - 14 degrees to replace your 3 wood.

Replaceing your 5wood you would want something lofted around 16-17 degrees and 7 wood I believe but not positive is around the same loft as a 3 iron so you would want to replace that with 19-21 degrees, mine is a 20 and I replaced my 3 iron with that.  I am going to get a 16 degree to replace my 5 wood and a 23 degree to replace my 4 iron.

In addition to replaceing those woods I would recoment replacing your 4 iron as well, however if you hit it well then there is no need to replace it.

I hit my 3 and 4 irons well by my mishits were disasterous, the hybrids helped me a lot, should have made the switch sooner.
