Question:

Irregular period or health problem?

by  |  earlier

Sometimes i get it every month(rarely) and most of the time i only get it every 2-3 months. When I do get it, it only lasts about 4 days(sometimes stops for a day, then comes back for 2 more days).

I don't know if that means something is wrong.

My mom also says she's been irregular her whole life, could that have to do with it?

Thanks.

  1. Firstly its normal for it to go on for a few days, stop for maybe a day, then come back for a couple of days.  However, if your periods are occasionally coming every 2-3 months, thats very very irregular, and warrants a trip to your doctor.  You said that youve gained weight over the years.. are you quite overweight?  This can often be the cause of cycles like yours.  Your doctor might also try to determine if youre suffering from polycystic ovaries.  Theres no need for you to worry though as you are normally quite regular.

  2. i really doubt your weight gain has anything to do with it .

depending on your age , it could be different.

with some girls, it's just like that.. .ENJOY IT,

having less of a period is great.

its annoying, and such a hassle when its regular .

    your a lucky girl.

i doubt something is wrong though.

    you should be fine :)
