So, I have VERY irregualr periods and always have(I think just from stress). My husband and I have been TTC for 8 months now. I have only had 2 periods since we started TTC which were in May and June this year. We tried to conceive on the days that I thought I would ovulate(used an online ovulation calculator) after my period in June. I figured that I would have ovulated on 4th of July weekend and I should have started my period two Sundays ago, but still haven't. I took a preg test, but it said negative. I'm not sure whether I could still be preggers or if it's just my stupid periods doing what they do best - going MIA!

  1. i so understand its a freakin stressful waiting game. i go threw the smae exact thing! ive been trying since Dec with no luck it alwayz seems like it is then boom my period comes.

  2. talk to your doctors

  3. since you cant really calculate when you ovulate because you are so irregular, try only going a day or two, no more than three, without having s*x with your husband! paying too much attention to exactly when you ovulate can sometimes have the reverse affect... try not to stress too much and enjoy it! you may be surprised!!!

good luck and LOTS of baby dust!!!!

  4. Do you think that you may have PCOS - this is the main factor causing irregular periods in women. If you have only had your period twice in 8 months, I would say that you should be getting tested for PCOS. You should also be charting your temperature to pinpoint if you are actually ovulating, or whether your cycles are anovulatory - long cycles can often indicate anovulatory cycles. An online calculator probably would not help you in your case - as you have irregular cycles and do not know when you actually ovulate. I used an online calucuator at first and now I know after charting my temps that this was WAY off for me!! There was no way I would have concieved when the calculator said I should!! So I started charting my temps and watching my cervical mucus and BANG, I was pregnant literally straight away!

There are great treatments for long cycles and PCOS, and you will most likely be put onto clomid (if you were to seek this medical help) to help you ovulate more regularly and give you shorter cycles. But sound to me like it is not stress, and there is probably a hormonal imbalance such as PCOS, causing these problems for you.

  5. it's more difficult to calculate your ovulation date if your period are irregular, try talking to a doctor to take Clomid as that'll regulate your periods..and it'll help you a great deal, you can learn more about Clomid and ask a doctor online for free for advice, try the website FertilityTies

    good luck!
