Did you or anyone you know experience this? How did baby react? How long after you consumed diary?

How did you resolve the issue? Did you cut out dairy completely or just the main sources like milk & cheese ?

  1. My three smaller children got very gassy when I ate lots of dairy.  We did not find this out until we tried milk based formula as well that it did the same thing.  Once I eliminated most dairy ( needed my cheese fix every once in a while) there did fine.  We also offered soy formula and no problems with gas.  Some babies will adjust some never do.  Talk to your pediatrician if you have any further concerns.  Good luck.

  2. My friend experienced this - she switched to goat's milk and cheese and baby was fine. Butter and things with milk as a minor ingredient didn't seem to cause a problem.

Her baby wheezed and had a bit of a rash, but I don't remember what the time delay was.

  3. My oldest had a slight sensitivity to dairy.  He was just more fussy than I thought he should have been.  I cut out all dairy from my diet and within 3 days, he didn't make a peep.  I cut dairy out completely...it sucked because my mom was visiting for a few weeks and made some turkey tetrazini (my most favorite!!!!), but I couldn't have any because it had cream :(.

Around 3 months, I was at Chipotle getting a burrito and the person misunderstood me when I said "No sour cream or cheese" because it had sour cream and cheese.  I figured I'd give it a try and see if baby had any sort of reaction.  None at all.  Usually around 3 months, babies bellies are slightly stronger and can handle the dairy in mom's breastmilk.
